I find it curious that feminist comedians frequently cite failure to leave the toilet seat in some pre-determined position as evidence of intellectual failure. A rational analysis shows that a man approaches the fixture and adjusts it to suit his needs. He lowers both seat and lid to facilitate donning socks or sets the position as required for other activities. To the best of my recollection, I have never heard a man complain that the seat was not left in the desired position by his mate. Logically I can only conclude that either adjusting the seat position is too complicated for her to understand or it indicates a level of indulgence such that the affront of not having the facility prepared for her is beyond endurance.
