This project is to freak out trick-or-treaters. It is very cheap. Plus it's the 21st century so the stuff is available.

To make the trip switch you will need:

• 2 pieces of cardboard
• 2 wires
• 2 pieces of foil
• 1 sponge

For the brush

• 1 bag
• 1 string
• a pole or tree by your porch
• leaves

And the releaser

• 1 3x3 bit of wood
• steel fencing wire
• 2 nails
• copper wire

Also you will need

• 1 powerful battery (car or similar)
• Black paint

Instructions:

1. Attach one piece of foil to one piece of cardboard do so with other piece of foil
2. Attach one wire to each bit of foil
3. Take a bit of sponge and cut it into strips
4. Stack the cardboard with the sponge between the two pieces
5. When the cardboard is squashed together the foil should touch
6. Set aside
7. Stuff bag with leaves and tie shut
8. Paint black and tie to string
9. Attach to pole
10. Bore one nail into wood
11. Stick one end of wire past the edge, wrap around nail and continue at a right angle.
12. Wrap copper wire around other nail and place next to the long arm of of wire
13. You are nearly done, just find a corner of the porch across from the pole, attach releaser there and put bag on the side of the arm opposite the nail
14. Connect the battery to one trip switch wire and the coil to the other
15. Place the switch in front of the brush swing path
16. You're done!
